Steve "Bo" Aurigemma
Marlboro, NY

·In 1968 and 1969 Steve played for the U.S. Navy Team in Norfolk, Virginia. He was named first team All Star District #9 both years. ·Steve batted .378 in 1968 and .313 in 1969 in Regional play where his teams finished second both years. ·‘Bo’ started his Major Fast Pitch career with the Poughkeepsie Brewers in 1970. ·A second baseman for most of his career, ‘Bo’ also played shortstop, third base and even tried his hand at pitching. ·From 1970 through 1974 ‘Bo’ played in every Brewer game and was a consistent .270 hitter who sprayed the ball all over the field. ·In 1970 he was voted the Rookie of the Year by the Brewers and helped them reach the National Tournament in Clearwater, Florida where they finished in 7th place. ·‘Bo’ batted over .300 and was named second team All-American at the National Tournament in Clearwater, Florida. ·In 1973 he was named the Most Valuable Player in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament batting .470 with a fielding percentage of 1.000. ·Also in 1973, ‘Bo’ batted .264 in the National Tournament held in Seattle, Washington and had a .950 fielding percentage with several crowd pleasing defensive plays. ·‘Bo’ has been an active ASA and NYS Scholastic Umpire for over 20 years. ·Throughout his career, Steve has shown good sportsmanship and respect for the game of softball, his teammates and his opponents. ·Steve is a worthy addition to the New York State Hall of Fame.
