· A consistent .300 hitter ‘Cappy” played for teams such as Red White’s, Beacon Miro, and Italian Center among others, all considered superior teams in his era.

· In addition to having a fine average, Cappy also possessed above average power, once homering in six consecutive games.

· He was the MVP or Batting Champion, in every league he played in.

· He was a shortstop and second baseman, and was considered an outstanding defensive player who could make the double play from either side.

· Cappy played against some of the finest pitchers in New York State and the rest of the country, competing against pitchers such as: Cliff Ong, Skippy Eggleston, Metro Zureck, Dick Norenberg and Lary Egan, to name a few.

· He was extremely proud of his accomplishments against the world renowned Raybesto’s Cardinals. In 1965 before 2500 spectators at Stitzel Field, Cappy went 3-6 against Dick Norenberg and Metro Zureck, including a 2 run home run.

· In the second game of that doubleheader, Cappy hit a key double and made a fine defensive play to save the game. Afterwards, George Adams, manager of Raybesto’s made it a point to compliment him on his outstanding offensive and defensive play in the series.

· He was twice honored by the Poughkeepsie Elks Club as the outstanding softball player in Dutchess County.
