Vince Caserto
Marlboro, NY


  • Vince competed in fast pitch softball from 1971 until 1984, playing with the Poughkeepsie Brewers, Raybesto's Cardinals and the Franklin Cardinals of West Haven, CT.
  • Four of the eight years he played Cardinals, he led them in hitting.
  • Calling fast pitch softball the "greatest team sport that I ever played," Vince was a pitcher's nightmare.
  • He smashed 170 home runs and drove in 583 runs during that period to go along with his .329 lifetime batting average.
  • Vince participated in 12 Regional and 11 National Tournaments.
  • In 1972, Vince won the Batting Championship in the National Tournament with a .444 average and was named to the First Team All American Tournament Team.
  • In 1976, he repeated as a First Team All American, as he led the Raybesto's Cardinals to the National Championship.
  • He was chosen as an alternate to the USA Pan American Team in 1979 & 1983.
  • Vince was an outstanding baseball pitcher in high school before switching to the softball diamond.
  • Caserto said that his biggest thrills in softball were winning the National Title for the first time, making All American for the first time, and winning the National Batting Championship.
  • In 1987, Vince was named to the ASA National Hall of Fame.
