Tom was a slick fielding first baseman, playing behind the great "Shifty" Gears for Kodak Park in Rochester.
Tom played for over 35 years and was instrumental in leading Kodak Park of Rochester to National titles in 1936 and again in 1940.
Tom batted .353 in the 1940 Nationals and .600 in the 1955 Nationals. In all, he had a lifetime batting average of .344. He also played a flawless game in the 1955 Nationals, handling 17 chances.
At the Old Timers Sports Association Reunion Rochester, To was selected as the best hitter in his day.
Tom turned down several baseball offers while playing baseball in the early 1930s
Tom has played in over 6 State Tournaments, 11 Regional Tournaments, and 10 National Tournaments.
Tom is a member of the ASA national Softball Hall of Fame, being inducted in 1964.
