Carolyn Chappell
Camillus, NY

  • Carol played fast pitch softball from 1969-1982, pitching a total of 100 wins against 51 losses for J.C. Girls Ciccone Team.
  • She had 5 no-hitters, 11 one-hitters and 6 two-hitters, while pitching against the top Women's Major Fast Pitch Teams in the country.
  • In 1976, in the Topton Tournament, with the best teams in the East, Carol allowed only 8 runs in five games, while winning the tournament.
  • In 1977, in the same tournament, Carolyn pitched nine games in three days, finishing in second place.
  • From 1973-1979, Carol pitched all of her teams games in the New York State Women's Major Tournament, winning five of the six titles during that span. In 1973, she was named the Most Valuable Player in the tournament.
  • In 1976, Carol was named the Most Valuable Player in the New York State Tournament, and the Most Valuable Pitcher in the Mid-Atlantic Regional. She was also named the Most Valuable Pitcher in the 1977, 1978, and 1979 New York State Tournaments.
  • In 1978, she defeated the Raybestos Brakettes who were World champions, 1-0 for their first loss of the season.
  • Also in 1878, Carol played against the Puerto Rico All Stars, in Syracuse, where he won both games and in Puerto Rico and Venezuela, where she won 7 of 9 games played. She was invited by the Venezuela National Team to put on pitching clinics in their country.
  • Carol was honored by the Camillus Umpires Association in 1978, for her many notable achievements in softball.
