Tom was a member of the Poughkeepsie Brewer Club, as a player and as a manager. He was an excellent defensive catcher with a quick and accurate throwing arm. He was also an extremely good contact hitter who rarely struck out.
Among Tom's credentials are: he played on three Downtown League Championship teams and eight local/city championship teams.
He played and managed on 19 championship teams in 33 State/Regional and National Tournaments.
Tom played twelve years in the powerful Atlantic Seaboard League.
He led his team to a 5th consecutive Mid-Atlantic Title, batting .500 in the 1972 Regional Tournament and was named the All State catcher.
Tom was named to the All Star Team in the prestigious Greater Elizabeth Tournament.
Tom managed his team to the State Championship in 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984, 1985, and 1987 seasons.
To is a member of the Dutchess County Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame.
