Craig McKenna
Pleasant Valley, NY


  • Craig, son of NYS Hall of Famer Bob McKenna and his wife Carol was considered one of the finest slow pitch shortstops in the Hudson Valley.

  • He has won numerous golden gloves and batting titles along with several league and tournament MVP awards.

  • He is best known for his stellar defense & strong arm while playing a very deep shortstop.

  • He carried a career batting average of .650 while playing over 300 games a season in league and travel play.

  • Craig played with local powerhouses such as Pete’s Mobil which finished in 4th place in the 1994 ASA Nationals, where he was named First Team All American Shortstop with a fielding percentage of .925 over 10 games and a batting average of .744 with 8 home runs and 27 RBI’s.

  • From 1996-1999 Craig played for Gasoline Heaven from Long Island playing in the A Division for 1 season and then moving to the Major Division, where Craig batted .714 in Stevens Point in the Major Tourney. Gasoline Heaven was ranked one of the top ten teams in the Country.

  • Playing for the local Pleasant Valley Fire Company, his team won the NYS Firemen’s Softball Tourney 8 times in 14 years. Craig was named Most Valuable Player in1995, 1996 & 2000.
