 Gary Williams · Gary was one of the founders of the New York State Softball Officials organization, the governing body of the NYS High School and continues to be one of its finest instructors. · He is highly respected throughout New York State as an instructor in the rules and mechanics of umpiring. · The results of his tutelage have led to 3 of his students being chosen to work in 4 ASA National Championships. · Gary has always been an umpire that has always done everything by the book and because of that has earned the respect of many UIC’s, players and coaches throughout the country. · Gary has officiated in over 100 ASA State Tournaments and over 20 Regional Tournaments. · He has officiated 2 NCAA Division III Championships and 2 New York State High School Championships. · Gary has officiated 7 ASA National Tournaments held in Pennsylvania, Texas, Georgia, New York and Alabama. · He has officiated 2 International Tournaments held in Nuevo Laredo, New Mexico and Quebec, Canada. · He has umpired in 7 different state and three different countries. · New York State has been very fortunate to have Gary as one of its members. He is a special person, not only for his knowledge of the rules, but for his ability to work with umpires and to make each one better than they were before they met him.
