Bruce Goyette
Middletown, NY

  • Bruce is currently the softball varsity coach at Minisink High School and is also coach of the 14-Under Diamond Dolls Softball Team.
  • Each spring and summer, Bruce conducts weekend softball clinics for girls 11-14. In addition, Bruce holds free clinics for all coaches in the local little league program.
  • Through his efforts as coordinator and fundraiser, The Friends of Minisink softball has reached its goal of $20,000, to install lights at their ballfield. Also, mainly through Bruce's fund raising efforts, the OTB Diamond Dolls 16-Under team raised $14,000 to enable them to send their team in 1992 to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the AFA National Tournament and to Normal, Illinois for the ASA National tournament.
  • Bruce has earned the respect and admiration of opposing high school coaches for his tireless efforts and attention to details, which has raised the level of softball in his area.
  • In 1994, the OTB Diamond Dolls was selected by the New York State as ASA Championship Team of the Month for their outstanding team sportsmanship, dedication, performance and achievement.
  • In 1987 and 1992, Bruce was chosen by the Times Herald as the Coach of the Year. In 1992, he was also chosen New York State Coach of the Year
  • Bruce received the American Legion Support of Youth Award in 1994, and also received the Red, White, and Blue National American Legal Award.
  • Since 1992, Bruce's high school team's record is 185 wins against 49 losses and since 1991, they have a league record of 50 wins and 0 losses.
  • In the last five seasons, his Diamond Dolls Team have finished in the top 5 in ASA State Tournaments, finishing first in 1993 and 1994, and second in 1995. In 1993, 1994, and 1995 the Diamond Dolls have competed in ASA National Tournaments.
