Robert "Dubby" Herman Manchester, N.Y.

· Dubby was one of the hardest throwers ever in New York fast pitch. He had a blazing rise ball and a tantalizing change up.

· Dubby’s career began in the late 50’s, building up an amazing record over the years.

· His 30 year career saw him win 1002 games and lose 265.

· He threw 16 perfect games along with 69 no-hitters.

· He was involved in 28 invitational tournament championships and two Eastern State Industrial Titles.

· He also participated in three National Championships in the major division.

· Dubby pitch for 30 different teams in 12 leagues in such laces as Rochester, Elmira, Buffalo, Syracuse and Oswego. He also played in league action in Decateur, Ill., Scranton, Pa. and Lorraine, Ohio.

· He won 8 ASA Metro Titles in Rochester and finished second three times in the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

· One of his greatest games was stopping the Poughkeepsie Brewers six year winning streak in regional games, beating them 1-0 in 1973.

· Dubby was named Most Valuable Pitcher in 21 invitationals and Most Valuable Player 3 times.

· He was named to 3 All-Regional teams and was a league All-Star 23 times.

· Dubby’s career ended in 1987 when several injuries caught up to him, but he did not leave the game. He is a very well respected pitching instructor working with high school girls in the Rochester area.
