Del Lewenn

· Del has 29 years of pitching experience in organized softball, beginning at the age of 16.

· Del pitched for Mr. M’s Class “A” Fast Pitch team and is credited, along with Fran Mott, for putting Oswego on the softball map.

· From 1973 thru 1980, Del won a total of 118 games, while losing 47 in tournament competition.

· He was named the Most Valuable Player in 1973, in the Cortland Tourney and in 1974, he was named the MVP of the Prospect Tournament, and in 1975 he was named the MVP in the New York State Tournament.

· In 1976 Del had a record of 26-9, with an era of .097.

· In 1979 Del was named the Most Valuable Player in the Erie Tournament.

· In 1979 Del had a regular season record of 28-7, and was again named the MVP of the New York State Tournament.

· In the 1980’s Del pitched Gary’s and the Oswego Merchants to seven consecutive National Tournament appearances.

· In 1980 Del pitched a 3-hitter in the opener of the Nationals, winning 2-1.

· In 1981, Del was again named MVP of a tournament, this time in being in Kemptville, Ontario.

· Del has won over 500 league games and over 300 tournament contests, including many state and regional tournaments and also has pitched in 13 National Championships.

· Del is still active in softball, being involved with the local ASA Junior Olympic Program, teaching youngsters pitching at the Oswego Youth Clinics.
