Leo Love

· Leo started his career in softball pitching for various teams including Highway Motors, Easy Washer, Carrier, Trinkas Manor and in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

· Over his career he compiled a record of 533 wins against 40 losses.

· Included in this record was a total of 20 no-hit games, including 3 perfect games in which he did not allow a batter to reach base.

· Perfect games were pitched in Massena, Fulton and in the State Championship in Elmira, New York.

· One of his perfect games was a nine inning contest which was called because of darkness.

· Leo played on 8 city championship teams, 3 state championship teams and played in 5 regional tournaments.

· Leo pitched against some of the best fast pitch pitchers of his era, including Harding, Bourne, Lorenson, Seymour, Tynes and the New York State Hall of Famer, Monk Curtain, whom he bested three times.

· While in Green Bay he once pitched three games in a row and picked up the nickname “Iron Man”.

· Leo was also a consistent .300 hitter during his career, often leading his team in batting over the course of the season.

· Leo is a real credit to ASA Softball and a fine addition to the New York State Hall of Fame.
