	George "Toppy" Moresco Newburgh, NY Toppy played Fast Pitch Softball from 1931 until 1956. He started as a catcher, but switched to pitching in his early days. Toppy pitched in over 750 games, compiling a record of 723 wins against only 29 losses, while pitching in the best leagues in Middletown, Newburgh, Beacon & Poughkeepsie. In his career, Toppy pitched 21 no-hitters, 35 one-hitters and over 125 two-hitters. He also pitched 9 perfect games while pitching for Pastime A.C. and Nephews of Newburgh. Toppy was also a strong hitter with a lifetime batting average of .347. His teams won many state and Regional tournaments and once traveled to Oklahoma to lay in a National Fast Pitch Tournament with the Eastman Kodak Team. Toppy pitched the Allan's All Stars to the Eastern State Title in 1946, pitching a total of 33 innings and was named the Outstanding Player in the Tournament. Nasty, colorful, and dedicated best describes this top pitcher to come from the Newburgh area. Toppy truly loves the game.
