Al Taurisano
Utica, NY

  • Al was a manager and sponsor from 1962-1991, capturing 12 City Championships in that time frame.
  • From 1968-1975 he was a player/manager for Parkway Drugs.
  • From 1976 until 1991 he was the manager/sponsor for Al T's Softball Team.
  • In 1976, they were the New York State Runner-Up in the Men's Open class.
  • In 1977, they were the New York State Champions in the Men's Open Class Slow Pitch, and were the only team from New York represented at the National Tournament in the Open Class.
  • Al's teams had an overall playoff record of 64 wins and only 4 losses, including 31 straight playoff victories.
  • His teams won over 100 Tournament Championships.
  • From 1970 thru 1991, Al's teams have played over 1800 games, winning 75% or over 1400 games.
  • Along with Bob Smith and Ted Petrillo, Al was instrumental in bringing the first New York State ASA Tournament to the Utica area.
  • In addition to softball, Al sponsors teams in Minor League Baseball, Little League Baseball, Muny League Basketball and is currently sponsoring an entire bowling league.
  • A true sports fan, Al is a fine addition to the Hall of Fame.
